The mass of a pendulum bob is 0.2kg, and it is suspended by a string 1m long. It is pulled aside until the thread is at 300 to the vertical. How much work is done? The ball is now released. Find the K.E. at the lowest point? g= 10m/s2 .

Here,
θ = 300
L = 1 m
m = 0.2 kg
g = 10 ms-2
Work done is stored as PE in the bob.
PE = mgh
  = 0.2×10×1×(1 – cos300)
  = 0.2×10×(1 – 0.87)
  = 0.26 J
At lowest point
PE = KE
So, KE = 0.26 J
