Here in this case applying the third equation of motion we can write that ,
v12-u12=2a1s1s1=1522×3=37·5 mAgain by applying the same equation we get that ,v22-u22=2a2s2s1=1622×4=32 mSo initially they were at 150 m apart from each other .Now after applying the brake  they will be =150-32+37·5=80·5 m apart from each other .
