What is corey's reagent ? What is used for?

It is pyridinium chloro chromate (pcc) having formula [C5H5NH][CrO3Cl]. It is used in the oxidation of alcoholic group to the carbonyl group. when used on 1` alcohols, it oxidise it into aldehydes and when used on 2` alcohols,it oxidise it into ketones.
