What is the product formed when a amine react with carboxylic acid at room temperature?? In NCERT textbook, it is given that salt formation will take place, but my teacher said amide formation will take place?? Which one is correct ??? Is amide and salt are the same?

Reaction of amine with carboxylic acid at room temperature forms the ammonium carboxylate salt due to deprotonation of acid by the base.
Amide is formed on heating of the ammonium carboxylate salt.
