Which of the following alkene will react faster with H2 under catalytic hydrogenation condition ?
Dear Nimish Jain,
When alkene reacts with hydrogen with faster rate it means the steric crowding will be least & rate will be fastest.
In option 1 the alkene is least hindered and will react with H2 with fastest rate.
In 2nd option one side of double bond is hindered with equal substitution but in option 1 one side/plane is hindered while other is free from hinderence of R group.
