Why are ethers not nucleophilic?

Dear Student

Ethers are not nucleophilic as Although they have lone pair of electron oxygen atom but due to high electronegativity of oxygen and  absence of no direct hydrogen attached to oxygen it is not possible to remove H+ to fulfill the needs of +  in the intermediate stage so they are not nucleophilic.
So they are generally unreactive in non-acidic (Or in the absence of H+) and so do not act as nucleophile.
