Why does conductivuty of a solution decreas on dilution of the solution

Dear student,

Conductivity depends upon the number of ions per unit volume of the solution.
As, the solution is diluted, the volume increases and hence the concentration of ion that is the number of ions per unit volume of the solution decreases, thus, the conductivity decreases.

Dear student Conductivity in a solution is due to the high concentration of ions in it and now what happens is when we dilute it or increase the dilution then concentration of ions decreases so can conductivity which is directly proportional to concentration of ions also decreases. Regards
