Why steel is more elastic than rubber?

Steel is more elastic than rubber because according to the definition,
 Elasticity is the property of material by virtue of which it regains its original size and shape.
 Eg: --take a piece of steel wire and a thin rubber, the same diameter of the steel wire and apply the same load on both together.
After removal of the load/force, you will observe that the length of the rubber will increase, but the length
of the steel wire will not increase.
This proves the above explanation.

In physics the elasticity of a material is measured in terms of modulus of elasticity or Young’s modulus.

Y = stress/strain = (F/A)/(∆l/l)

In case of a steel wire a large force F will produce a small extension. Where as in a rubber band a small force will produce a large extension. So, steel has a higher value of Young’s modulus than rubber. Thus, steel is more elastic then rubber.

Steel is more elastic than rubber.Its because the strain produced by steel is less compared to that by rubber for a given force.
therefor, the modulus of elasticity is more for steel.

Youngs modulus is inversely proportional to change in length since L of solid is smaller then of streched rubber that's why it is more elastic as Y proportional to elasticity.

By this definition, steel is more elastic than rubber because steel comes back to its original shape faster than rubber when the deforming forces are removed.Elasticity In Physics And In Common Life: In common life we label a substance asmore elastic if it can be stretched more than others
