CBSE Class 10 & 12 Datesheet 2018: Changes Expected to accommodate JEE Main 2019

The Central Board of Secondary Education, conducting authority for the the CBSE Board exams for Class 10 and 12 is set to release the dates for board practical exams soon. This year, students appearing for the exams can expect a few changes in the dates, owing to JEE Main 2019, the preliminary test conducted for JEE aspirants. Beginning 2019, JEE Main will be conducted twice a year by the newly-formed National Testing Agency or NTA. JEE Main January 2019 is bound to affect the dates for the board practical dates for Class 12, especially.

 

Currently wrapping up the process of registration for Class 10 and Class 12 exams in 2019, the board will be announcing the dates for practical exams right after.

 

The dates for the first set of exams for JEE Main 2019 is scheduled to be conducted between 6th and 20th January. Owing to the same, the board may stretch out the practical exam dates for Class 12 science, considering a huge number of these students also appear for JEE. Till last year, the practical exams were usually conducted between 15th and 25th January. This may see a change in the coming year.   

 

Apart from the dates for JEE Main in January, CBSE will also need to keep in mind the preponed dates for the Board exams, as in September 2018, CBSE announced its intention to conduct the board exams for class 10 and 12 in February in 2019. Schools are also getting prepped to start their pre-board exams for Class 10 and 12.

 

With all the events set to be conducted in close proximity of each other, the board will have to put in a lot of thought into the dates for school board examinations this year onward.
