The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, after his live interaction with students on Tuesday, tweeted that the CBSE class 10 board exam, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will now not be conducted in any part of the country, except for students from North-East Delhi.

“No examination to be held for class X students nationwide, except for students from North-East Delhi. An adequate time of 10 days will be given to all students for the preparation of exams,” the minister tweeted.

The North-East part of Delhi was hit by the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act riots during the board exams in February this year. Students were not able to appear for the exams during those days.

He also mentioned that an additional time of ten days will be given to class 10 and class 12 students who will be taking the exams. So, if you are in class 10 from the north-east zone of Delhi or you are a class 12 student, you don’t have to panic about the exam preparation time.

The minister also clarified that those students of North East Delhi who had already appeared for the exams, need not reappear for the same.

Last week, CBSE had hinted that it was not possible to conduct Class 10 board examinations amid the nationwide lockdown. The board had said it will conduct examinations for only main subjects that will be required for promotion to the next class and maybe crucial for admissions in higher educational institutions.
