Making Daddy PROUD!

Fathers hold a very special place in our lives. We realize it quite late, but it is true that our Dads will always be there to catch us when we fall, dust us thoroughly and help us get back on our feet once again. That is the thing about Fathers, you can always take them for granted. The only thing they want is for you to be happy and realize the full potential of your dreams, to not repeat the mistakes of the past and start afresh.

There are times when we cringe at the words “I am disappointed in you” or “If you are going to live under my roof, you are going to follow my rules”, sometimes things fly off the handle on both sides and you find yourself and your dad sulking away in different corners of the house. Always remember that even in such crazy times your dad is trying to grapple with the pressures of understanding your need to be independent, to come up with something-that one solution that will help you deal with your problems.

• Sit together with him and talk to him about your dreams, aspirations, sports, how your new shoes make you the talk of the town, how that principal at school laughs in a funny manner, how your best friend and you have discovered this insane place to hangout.( Of course he will tell you to be careful, but he is going to love becoming your confidant).

• Since dads insist on seeing tangible results, try to support your arguments for following your dreams by taking an aptitude test and show him the results! (You will see the gruff approval on his face).

• Make a silly “My Daddy Strongest” card and watch his face glow. (It never fails to work for dads of all ages)

• Challenge him to an online gaming face off.( My tip: Keep a reward for the winner. :p)

• Make a silent promise to yourself to improve your grades at this year and surprise him with a good result!
