CBSE Class 10 Science: Board Paper Solutions & Analysis

CBSE Board conducted the Class 10 Science exam on 16th March 2018. The Science experts at Meritnation have decoded the paper for you. So here’s a detailed analysis for today’s paper in terms of difficulty level and paper pattern:

Keeping up with other board exams that have been conducted till now, today’s Science exam was also easy. The paper was as per the new pattern of CBSE, covering all the chapters of the NCERT textbook. The paper had equal weightage in all the three sections, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. All the questions were from the syllabus, except Part A of Question 4 (set 1), in which the students were asked to name the examples of any gustatory and olfactory receptor.

If we analyse the whole paper, the questions from the Chemistry section were the toughest, while those from the Biology section were the easiest. The overall length of the paper was optimum. Despite the change in the CBSE pattern, there were many questions that were repeated from the previous papers. Even in PBQ section, though the MCQs were replaced with the descriptive ones, there was no major change in the variety of questions being asked. Also, some questions in the paper were similar to those we had dealt in MN Top 100 questions.

In conclusion, the whole paper was quite easy and most of the students would be highly positive and confident about scoring great marks.
