CBSE 2018 Class 12 Chemistry: Board Paper Solutions & Analysis

The CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Board Exam was held on 13th March, 2018. Here’s the analysis of the same by our Meritnation experts as well as the solutions to all the sets of the question paper.

Unlike the Physics paper, which was unexpectedly easy and had bring rejoice to the students, the Chemistry paper was slightly on the tougher edge. All the questions were from the syllabus, but a few were similar to those in the NCERT textbook. This year’s paper was quite different from last year’s, in terms of pattern and difficulty level.

Most of the questions though were easy, but were slightly twisted and indirectly asked, and thus tested higher order thinking skills of the students. Especially, the questions from inorganic chemistry were more difficult than those from organic and physical chemistry. Some numerical questions were tricky and time-consuming as they needed a combination of formulae to solve. However, the paper was of a optimum length and most of the students would not find it difficult to finish the paper within the allotted time.
