CBSE Class 12 Biology Board Paper Analysis 2020

CBSE conducted the class 12th biology exam on Saturday, March 14. The exam was comparatively difficult from last year as there were more indirect questions.

This year, the Biology Exam took a different route and came out to be filled with application-based questions. The questions were framed from within the periphery of the NCERT textbook but inclined more towards reason and logic rather than being direct in approach.

Questions based on the haplontic life cycle, apomixis, genetic drift, etc were tricky to solve. However, long-answer type questions based on population ecology, succession and gametogenesis were easier. Questions from cross-breeding, population density, etc were directly asked from the NCERT textbook paragraphs. There was a glimpse of the previous year’s questions from the ecosystem, diagrams of the human reproductive system, useful microbes, and reproductive health.

Set-1 offered a unique question asking for posters based on maternal and child health.

As opposed to the usual perception, the CBSE class 12 Biology exam was not lengthy and students could complete it on time.

To conclude, the exam was above average in difficulty level. The students were made to explore many aspects of the subject and had to present creative answers to tackle the nature of the questions.
