CBSE Class 12 Economics 2018: Board Paper (Re-exam) Solutions & Analysis

The news of the Economics board paper for 2018 being conducted again left many students distressed, with a feeling that the re-exam question paper might be difficult as compared to the first one, which was rather easy. However, surprisingly, the re-exam was as easy as the first paper.

If we analyse the difficulty level, then we can say that out of total 24 questions approximately 3 questions were difficult, 12 were easy and 9 were moderate.

The paper was more or less easy as most of the questions were direct in nature such as ‘Define opportunity cost or aggregate supply’. There were questions which required graphs such as Q 5, 7, 10, 12, 20, etc. The chapter wise weightage of both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics was seen to be similar to that prescribed by the CBSE in the syllabus. A change was observed in the marks allocated to numerical questions with only 14 marks of numerical questions in this years re-exam.

Lastly, if we analyse 2018’s Economics re-exam on an overall basis, we can say that the paper was quite easy, though it did have some tricky questions like Q7 and Q14.
