True to its every word, the contribution of a parent on a child's future is unmeasurable. The overall development of children's character, how well they perform in studies, how bright their future turns out to be, etc., are some some of the factors in which the parent's contribution is immense. So, when it comes down to the performance of a student in any entrance examination, the contributing factors of the parents are not quite different. IIT-JEE is one of the toughest entrance examinations of the world with a success rate of around 1 in 160. Needless to say, the competition is fierce and also the pressure building up on students is huge. In a situation where even fractions of mark can determine the rank of a student, a good preparation along with mental stability of the students can turn out to be the turning point in cracking IIT-JEE. But most of the times it becomes unattainable singlehandedly. Parent's contributions play a huge role in the success of the students in IIT-JEE. Know your subject's interest: The first and foremost duty of the parents is to understand whether their children are at all interested in studying engineering or not. Gone are the days when every student wanted to be either doctor or engineer. Never try to force your children to opt for engineering just because you want him/her to be an engineer. Talk with them, guide them properly and if they are indeed interested, support them in their decision. 2.
