Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test or more commonly known as UPCPMT is a state level medical entrance examination and is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh government. Conducted every year, the UPCPMT enables students to take admissions in different medical and dental courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and BUMS in various government, semi government and privately owned institutions. With over lakhs of students appearing every year and with only a limited amount of seats, there is a huge competition in UPCPMT.

 

UPMCT Paper Pattern:

The UPCPMT question paper consists of four sections, viz. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. There are 50 objective type questions carrying 1 mark each from each section and the total duration of the exam is 180 minutes. The medium of the question paper is English and Hindi.

 

Syllabus for UPCMT:

The syllabus of 10+2 under Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education is generally followed in UPCPMT. A detailed syllabus is also given in the exam brochure of UPCPMT.

 

UPMCT Eligibility Criteria:

  • The first and foremost criteria to be eligible for UPCPMT is that one has to complete his/her Class XII from the state of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who have studied from outside the state are eligible only if their parent are residents of Uttar Pradesh. Domicile certificates of the candidate’s parents are to be provided in that case.
  • Candidates should be between 17 years and 25 years of age on the year of admission to be eligible for UPCPMT. Also, to be eligible for UPCPMT, candidates must have had Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with English as their core subjects in 10+2 level and must have at least 50% aggregate marks in these subjects (40% for SC, ST and OBC candidates).

 

UPCMT Application Process:

Candidates can apply for UPCPMT only via offline method by obtaining the information booklet of UPCPMT from the designated branches of Central Bank of India. The information booklet comes at around Rs. 1280/- for general and Rs. 680/- for candidates under reserved category. The OMR Application form in the information booklet is required to be filled by the candidates with blue ballpoint pen. The filled up form needs to be sent to the address given on the booklet before the last date of submission.
