Aadhaar Card Mandatory for all JEE Applicants

 

Aadhaar Card Must for JEE applicantsThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) makes it compulsory for all JEE aspirants to their Aadhaar card details while filling up the online form.

Candidates must submit their Aadhaar number to apply for the upcoming JEE (Main) 2017 exam. Those who do not have the number should apply for it and submit details.

According to latest reports, the Joint Apex Board (JAB) will be using the Aadhaar-based biometric attendance machines at exam centres to mark attendance of candidates appearing for the exam.

The last date for applying online for JEE (Main) is January 2, 2017.

The initiative has been taken to stop malpractices and to keep a close check on the candidates due to few cases of impersonation were reported last year. “This will also help in ascertaining identities of the applicants at the examination centres in a convenient and hassle free manner. Aadhaar obviates the need for producing multiple documents to prove one’s identity,” says the notice circulated by the Board regarding the same. All examination centres would be under CCTV recording too.

States like Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam have been given relaxation from this mandatory rule.
