The online registration dates of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) (Advanced) 2016 have been announced by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on their official website.
JEE (Advanced) 2016 will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati on May 22, 2016.
According to the official website, the online registration for JEE (Advanced) 2016 will begin on April 29, 2016 and will close on May 4, 2016. All candidates are expected to apply only through the online portal where detailed instructions will be provided. This year 2 lakh students will be able to sit for the exam as against 1.5 lakh unlike last year.
It was noticed that suggestions of change in the pattern of JEE had caused a lot of confusion and uncertainty in the minds of the candidates. Therefore, the HRD ministry has decided to continue with the pattern that has been followed since 2012. 40% weightage will be allocated to the results of class 12 board exams while assigning ranks to the candidates writing JEE (Advanced) 2016. The practice of the two-tier JEE test will be continued for at least next two terms, i.e., 2016 and 2017.
